Hello again and welcome to a new little feature we’ve cooked up called ‘What Happened?’ It’s our way of making a little bit of a newsletter from the work we’ve been doing each month, so here goes!…
The theme of this month, if it really needed one is most definitely ‘Schools Out, Avango’s In!’ That’s because we’ve mostly been working with a local business that creates and installs children’s playground equipment.
Whilst we do a lot of this work throughout the year for them, it’s always a little bit easier in the summertime as once the schools are closed we can get our vehicles closer to where the equipment needs to be offloaded. And that was very important in our last delivery, due to the sheer size and weight of the items being delivered.
We estimate that around 2-2.5 tons of wooden playground furniture was delivered across 3 vehicles and took 5 people almost 3 hours to load and unload.
And when we weren’t delivering the equipment ‘to’ the schools this month, we were delivering items ‘for’ them! We helped a Horwich primary school participate in the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park by delivering everything needed for their display and then returning it to the school when the show was over.
The school’s display won a ‘highly commended’ award which we think was a great achievement at such a prestigious show.
